SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George Joseph Patterson Jr. of
4Bloomington, who passed away on January 31, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. was born in Bloomington to
6George and Oleander Ross Patterson Sr. on August 30, 1944; he
7proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War
8and was stationed in Germany; and
 
9    WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. worked for Eureka Williams
10for over 15 years; he then worked for Davis Cleaning for over
1115 years and retired in 2010; and
 
12    WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. was a member of the Godfrey
13L. Miller Elks Lodge 1776 for over 45 years; he was an avid
14golfer and fisherman and enjoyed bowling; and
 
15    WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents and his brother, Ferdinand Patterson; and
 
17    WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. is survived by his siblings,
18Minnie (James) Patterson-Farris, Daniel (Marilyn) Patterson,
19and Willie Patterson; his nieces and nephews, Sylvia Neal,
20James L. (Drue) Farris, Christine E. (Leon) Sims, Keith A.

6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9George Joseph Patterson Jr. and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of George Patterson Jr. as an
14expression of our deepest sympathy.
