SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph M. "Joe" Ambrose of Mahomet,
4formerly of LeRoy, who passed away on January 4, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose was born in Peoria to Joseph J. and
6Charlotte M. Mittendorf Ambrose on July 28, 1957; he moved with
7his family to LeRoy in 1967, where he met his future wife, and
8they both graduated from LeRoy High School in 1975; he earned a
9bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois in
101979, and married Julienne "Julie" Epperson in LeRoy on June
1121, 1989; he then earned a law degree from Indiana University
12in 1982 and a master's in business administration from
13Northwestern University in 2001; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose began his career as a lawyer with
15Bane, Allison, & Saint in 1982; he later worked for Saint &
16Ambrose, Hinshaw & Culbertson, and Costigan & Wollrab; in 2006,
17he joined Horizon Hobby and became C.E.O. in 2008; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose was a member of the Board of Directors
19for First Busey Corporation, St. Mary Church in Downs, and the
20Champaign Country Club; he and Julie traveled frequently and
21visited 20 countries, Disney World, and their grandchildren; he
22loved motorcycles, reading, and spending time with friends and

1family; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents
3and his brother, Gregory R. Ambrose; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose is survived by his wife, Julie; his
5children, Joseph Jacob (Danielle) Ambrose, Benjamin Matthew
6Ambrose, Bradley Conard (Sarah) Ambrose, and Megan Leta (David)
7Jones; his eight grandchildren; his brother, James (Kathryn)
8Ambrose; and his sisters, Julie Ambrose, Mary Ambrose, and
9Margaret Ambrose; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Joseph M. "Joe" Ambrose and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Joe Ambrose as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
