HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Pastor RW
4"Robert" Randle of Peoria, who passed away on June 20, 2020;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle was born in Cruger, Mississippi to
7Nathaniel and Lizzy B. (Reedy) Randle on April 12, 1940; he
8received his formal education in Mississippi; he received his
9Associate in Applied Science from Illinois Central College; he
10earned his Bachelor of Arts from Sangamon State University; he
11married Dorothy Mae Mines on October 2, 1960; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle moved to Peoria in 1955; he held a
13variety of positions and later went to work at Caterpillar Inc,
14retiring in 1996; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle was a long-time deacon and chairman
16of the Deacon Board at New Morning Star M.B. Church, which was
17under the leadership of the late Dr. Calvin Hightower; he
18accepted his calling into the ministry on June 13, 1997; he
19founded Higher Dimensions Praise and Worship Church in Peoria
20on December 24, 2000; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle became the CEO of the Peoria Palace

1Skating Rink in March of 2003; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle worked with the Peoria Tri-County
3Urban League; he ministered at the Peoria County Jail and
4various nursing homes around the city; he enjoyed jogging,
5working in the yard, and tending to the skating rink; he loved
6his hospital ministry and helping others; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle was preceded in death by his
8parents; his sisters, Rutha Mae Randle Sargent and Liz Randle
9Lobdell; and his brothers, Frank "Sonny" Randle and Jimmy
10"Bopeep" Randle; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Pastor Randle is survived by his wife, First Lady
12Dorothy M. Randle; his children, Verna Lesi Randle, Robert
13LaMarr (Zipporah) Randle, and DeAndre Ladell Randle (Melissa
14Clemons); his grandchildren, Rev. Marcus Howard, Nicholas
15(Brittney) Howard, Ashtin Howard, MeKeisha Howard, British
16Randle, Drelyn Randle, LJ Randle Jr., and Nala Davis; his
17great-grandchildren, Marcus Foreman, Malachai Howard, Josiah
18Howard, Nya Howard, Nicholas Howard, Ca'Liyah Williams,
19Jailynn Lawrence, Jason Lawrence, and Phoenixx Howard; his
20brothers, Nathaniel Randle Jr., Charles (Mary Ann) Randle, L.A.
21(Linda Faye) Randle, and Robert (Cassie) Harris; his sisters,
22Nancy Moredock and Leola Jefferson; and his sister-in-law, Joan
23Randle; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we mourn the passing of Pastor RW "Robert" Randle and extend
4our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
5knew and loved him; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Pastor RW Randle as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
