HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rosebud
4"Rosie" Lynn Buford of Chicago, who passed away on January 14,
52020; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rosie Buford was born the 12th of 16 children to
7Paul and Louise Buford on July 16, 1952; Rosie was baptized
8Catholic and attended St. Bernard Elementary School and Dunbar
9Vocational High School; as a young girl, she was a cheerleader
10and member of the choir; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rosie Buford was an important person to friends
12and family; she was a devoted friend, sibling, mother,
13grandmother, and great-grandmother to 15 siblings, five
14children, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and
 
15    WHEREAS, During high school, Rosie Buford was employed by
16Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital; after, she worked for her
17father at VHMI, as well as for Spiegel's, IIT, Portillo's, and
18AOBA Enterprise; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rosie Buford greatly enjoyed spending time with
20her family and close friends; some of her favorite things to do
21were dressing up, step dancing, and roller-skating; she was

1known as one of the family's best cooks and beauticians; she
2was a special and unique individual who expressed a kindness
3that will never be forgotten by those who met her; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Rosie Buford is preceded in death by her parents,
5Paul and Louise Buford, her soulmate, Donald "Ducky" Pittman;
6her son, Eric "Red" Buford; her grandson, Bobby "Nukey"
7Collins; her great-granddaughter, Angle Lynn Eggleston; her
8seven sisters; and her one brother; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rosie Buford is survived by her four children,
10Louis, Leona, Janina (Pinkie), and Brian "Da-Da"; her 13
11grandchildren, Vivian, Taryn, Marquez, Samarri, Nevaeh,
12Jordyn, Kennedi, Hyseal, Samera, Brooklynn, Keiosha, and
13Jaylen; her two great-grandchildren, Louis and Major; her seven
14siblings, Lucille, Luther, Myra, Diana (Ardrian), Cynthia,
15Gregory, and Harriette (Allyn); her God-children, Elijah,
16Nasir, Savanna, Chi'niya, Jamal, Da'niya, and Chaney Jr.; her
17nieces and nephews; her great-nieces and great-nephews; and her
18long time friends, Yvette, Carla, Kathy, and Lorene; therefore,
19be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
21HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22we mourn the passing of Rosebud "Rosie" Buford and extend our
23sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to the family of Rosie Buford as an expression of our
4deepest sympathy.
