SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2310/2310-455 new

    Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall investigate and apply for federal funding opportunities, including, but not limited to, a specified federal grant, to support maternal mental health, to the extent that programs are financed, in whole, by federal funds. Provides that the Department shall file a report with the General Assembly on or before January 1, 2021 of the Department's efforts to secure and utilize the federal funding it receives from its efforts. Provides that the amendatory Act's provisions are repealed on January 1, 2022.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
5Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6amended by adding Section 2310-455 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2310/2310-455 new)
8    Sec. 2310-455. Federal funding to support maternal mental
9health.
10    (a) The Department shall investigate and apply for federal
11funding opportunities, including, but not limited to, the grant
12available under Section 10005 of the federal 21st Century Cures
13Act (Public Law 114-146), to support maternal mental health, to
14the extent that programs are financed, in whole, by federal
15funds.
16    (b) The Department shall file a report with the General
17Assembly on or before January 1, 2021 of the Department's
18efforts to secure and utilize the federal funding it receives
19from the requirement specified in subsection (a).
20    (c) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2022.
