SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
50 ILCS 110/2  from Ch. 102, par. 4.11

    Amends the Public Officer Simultaneous Tenure Act. Provides that it is lawful for a person to hold the office of county board member and the office of park district commissioner, simultaneously, in counties of less than 300,000 population. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Public Officer Simultaneous Tenure Act is
5amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
 
6    (50 ILCS 110/2)  (from Ch. 102, par. 4.11)
7    Sec. 2. Simultaneous tenure declared to be lawful. It is
8lawful for any person to hold the office of county board member
9and township supervisor, and in counties of less than 100,000
10population the office of county board member and township
11trustee, simultaneously. It is lawful for any person to hold
12the office of county board member and the office of township
13assessor or town clerk, simultaneously, in counties of less
14than 300,000 population. It is lawful for a person to hold the
15office of county board member and the office of park district
16commissioner, simultaneously, in counties of less than 300,000
17population.

19    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20becoming law.
