SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frederick "Fred" Brean of Ocala, Florida,
4who passed away on October 10, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Brean was born in Waukegan to Ines and Albert
6Brean on August 20, 1936; he attended West Grade School and
7Waukegan Township High School; he attended Marquette
8University and joined the United States Air Force in 1955,
9where he served for four years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Fred Brean was employed at United Oil; he then
11opened his own business, Brean's Citgo; later, he and his wife
12purchased the Badger Egg Co. and then opened and operated Ma &
13Pa's Corner Store in Waukegan until 1983; he lived in Waukegan
14for 48 years before retiring and moving to Hilo, Hawaii; after
15spending 12 years there, he and his family moved to Ocala,
16Florida; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Fred Brean loved and enjoyed his family and loved
18bowling with the Silver Rollers in Ocala; he also enjoyed being
19a member of Too Your Health Spa, where he exercised three times
20a week; he enjoyed keeping a journal from day to day while
21operating Ma & Pa's Corner Store, loved to read, and loved
22cars; he was an Elk's Club member in Hilo and Ocala; he was a

1Moose Lodge member in Waukegan as well as belonging to the
2Stick and Rudder Club; he was an avid Cubs and Bears fan; he
3was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church, St Patrick's
4Church in Wadsworth, and Blessed Trinity in Ocala; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Brean was preceded in death by his parents;
6his brother, Pauley Brean; his sister, Clara (Dolly) Snider;
7and his grandson, Keaka Arruda; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Fred Brean is survived by his wife of 54 years,
9Suzanne; his son, Patrick Kelly Brean; his daughters, Lou-Anne
10(Phil) Wasson, Roseanne Brean, and Roxanne Lynn McCarron; his
11brother, Richard (Kathy) Brean; his cousin, Edda Rinfreshi; his
12grandchildren, Shawn Wasson, Kimo Arruda, Keone Arruda, Jamie
13Lindsey, and Morgan Brean; his great-grandchildren, Kalena
14Arruda, Kora Arruda, and Kia Arruda; numerous special nieces
15and nephews; and countless friends; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Frederick "Fred" Brean and extend our sincere condolences to
19his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Fred Brean as an expression of our
