SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Adolph "Bob" Kotz, who passed away
4on July 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was born in Chicago to Adolph and Casmira
6Kotz on August 22, 1942; he dedicated his life to his country,
7his church, and his family; he was a Captain in the United
8States Marine Corps and started the first Redeye Hand-Held
9Infrared Missile Platoon at Camp Lejeune; he fought in the
10Vietnam War, where he was stationed in both Okinawa, Japan and
11Danang, Vietnam; after the war, he pursued his Master of
12Business Administration at Rutgers University; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was an executive in the franchising
14industry; throughout his career, he managed over 1,700 tax and
15auto transmission franchisees; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was dedicated to his faith, and served
17the Catholic church as a devout parishioner and by training
18altar servers; he was an active member of the Coweta-Fayette
19Marine Corps League and took part in their annual Toys for Tots
20drive; he spoke of his time in the United States Marines and
21having both of his daughters graduate from Georgia Tech as his
22greatest achievements; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bob Kotz is survived by his wife, Beth; his
3daughters, Megan Mitchell and Monica Kotz; and his
4granddaughter, Olivia; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Robert Adolph "Bob" Kotz and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Bob Kotz as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
