SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Loyal Lewis Tullius of Port Byron, who
4passed away on September 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was born in Arcadia, Wisconsin to
6Loyal and Irene (Hofland) Tullius on April 3, 1943; he served
7in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he married
8Karen Pannell in Eagan, Minnesota on June 24, 1989; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was a businessman with a passion to
10create and a desire to help people; after years of working in
11sales and management for other companies, he decided to start
12his own business, Custom Appearance, in Davenport, Iowa in
131977; after moving to Minnesota with his wife, his dream grew
14even larger, and they opened Stampede Products, an automotive
15aftermarket manufacturing company; he always treasured the
16fact that the business allowed them to make friends all over
17the world; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was Chairman of the Scouting Clays
19Classic for 21 years and helped raise money for local Boy Scout
20chapters; he was also President of the Bi-State's Sportsman's
21Association; he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing;
22he loved his wife, his family, and his many Golden Labradors

1that shared the name Honey; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was preceded in death by his
3parents; his grandson, Joseph Dreifurst; and his
4great-grandson, Christopher Bunch; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius is survived by his wife, Karen; his
6daughters, Denise (Larry) Dreifurst and Debra (Stan) Holdampf;
7his siblings, Glen Tullius and Beverly (Dean) Harms; his
8stepbrothers, Dean, Darvin, Dale, and David Petersen; his
9grandchildren, Destiny (Jared) Maynard, Lisa Dreifurst, Amber
10(Chad) Herzmann, William (Ashley) Pratt, Nicole (Jodi) Wells,
11and Nolan Sanquist; his seven great-grandchildren; his two
12nieces; and his nephew; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Loyal Lewis Tullius and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Loyal Tullius as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
