SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Camden "Cam" Gass of Moline, who
4passed away on September 17, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cam Gass was born in Hastings, Nebraska to Melvin
6Camden and Cecilia Wieland Gass on December 11, 1933; he served
7in the U.S. Army and married Arlene Darby in 1962; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cam Gass was employed in the Engineering Standards
9department by Deere and Company for 30 years; he retired in
102001; he was a member of the Engineering Graphics Committee for
11the International Standards Organization; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Cam Gass enjoyed swimming and swam a mile a day
13until he was 79 years old; his pride and joy were his sons and
14grandchildren; he also enjoyed traveling all over the world and
15visited over 42 countries; he cherished the time he spent with
16friends and was always on the go; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Cam Gass was preceded in death by his sister,
18Leila Hemmingsen, and his former wife and good friend, Arlene;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Cam Gass is survived by his sons, William C.

1"Chip" Gass and David D. (Kim) Gass; his granddaughters, Olivia
2Darby and Cece V. Gass and Katherine E. and Audrey C. Gass; and
3his stepgrandson, Austin O'Brien; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6William Camden "Cam" Gass and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Cam Gass as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
