SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald L. Roberts of Milan, who passed
4away on August 12, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Roberts was born in Cleveland, Ohio to
6Kenneth and Eleanor (Bradley) Roberts on May 5, 1945; he served
7in the U.S. Navy and married Nikki Brown in Moline on November
816, 1963; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Roberts worked at the Rock Island Arsenal
10for over 20 years with the engineering department; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Donald Roberts was a member of the St. Ambrose
12Catholic Church in Milan and the Illinois Brotherhood of
13Electrical Workers local union; he was past president of the
14American Federation of Government Employees labor union and a
15former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he served
16as a lector; he loved spending time with his family, especially
17his grandchildren; he was an avid fan of Nascar, the Chicago
18Cubs, and the Chicago Bears; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Donald Roberts was preceded in death by his
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Donald Roberts is survived by his wife, Nikki; his
2children, Dawn and Thomas "Chip" Irwin, Troy and Gina Roberts,
3and Jason and Nicole White; his grandchildren, Blake Irwin,
4Taylor Irwin, Hali (Russ) Hatch, Derek Roberts, Katlyn Roberts,
5Lauryn White, Madelyn White, and Dylan White; his
6great-grandchildren, Preston, Karlee, and Bryce; and his
7sister, Elaine White; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Donald L. Roberts, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Donald Roberts as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
