SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward "Ed" Walkowicz of East Moline, who
4passed away on July 14, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz was born in New York City to Michael
6and Margaret (Sozanski) Walkowicz on October 14, 1936; he
7served in the United States Marine Corps; he married Christine
8Ippen in Rockford on May 2, 1964; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz worked in sales for Quaker Oats for
1028 years, Hormel Foods for five years, and Hershey for over 11
11years; he retired at the age of 78; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz enjoyed traveling with his wife as
13she judged dog shows; they visited a total of 27 countries, but
14his favorite destination was Hawaii, where they celebrated
15their 50th wedding anniversary with the entire family; he was
16an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz was preceded in death by his parents
18and his brother, George Walkowitz; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz is survived by his wife, Christine;
20his children, Edward "Dean" Walkowicz, Teresa "Terri"

1(Patrick) Barnes; Michael (Alair) Walkowicz, and Joshua
2(Leslie) Walkowicz; his grandchildren, Lauryn, Michael, and
3Cole Barnes; his sister, Eugenia (Jon) Youngren; and his
4sister-in-law, Kim Walkowitz; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Edward "Ed" Walkowicz and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Ed Walkowicz as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
