SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond Rayburn Mayfield who passed away
4on June 30, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was born in Waukegan to Postel
6and Rosie Mayfield on August 19, 1950; he played AAU basketball
7in his youth and graduated from North Chicago Community High
8School; he married Linda Taylor on November 3, 1974; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was a member of Zion Temple
10Church of God in Christ in Zion; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was an avid fan of the Chicago
12Cubs; his pride and joy was his orange '57 Chevy, which was
13admired by many sports car enthusiasts; he loved soul music,
14especially The Temptations; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was preceded in death by his
16parents; his brother, William Mayfield; his sister, Pearl
17Medley; and his sons, Shawn Taylor, Tony Craigen, and Tremaine
18Taylor; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield is survived by wife, Linda; his
20son, Kwantez Mayfield; his sisters, Mae Berta Poole and Gloria

1Carr; his brother, John Mayfield; and his many grandchildren,
2nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Raymond Rayburn Mayfield and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and those who knew and loved him; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Rayburn Mayfield as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
