SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eugene Albert "Teener" Philipp of
4Woodstock, who passed away on July 10, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Eugene Philipp was born to Albin and Addie Philipp
6on September 20, 1926; he served in the U.S. Army during World
7War II and married Hazel Mae Lappin at Grace Lutheran Church in
8Woodstock on August 9, 1963; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Eugene Philipp worked for the McHenry County Title
10Company for 44 years before retiring in 1988; he was elected as
11the city clerk of Woodstock in 1969; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Eugene Philipp was an avid sports fan and lifetime
13Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan; he enjoyed reading,
14crosswords, puzzles, bingo, video poker, slots, and horse
15racing; he was a charter member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church
16in Woodstock; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Eugene Philipp was preceded in death by his wife,
18Hazel; his parents; his brother, Donald; his in-laws, Leverett
19and Lillian Lappin; and several other relatives and friends;

1    WHEREAS, Eugene Philipp is survived by his daughters,
2Kristine (Martin) Victory and Kathleen Philipp; his
3granddaughter, Savanna Victory (Robert Vicary); his
4great-grandchildren, Leland, Julius, and William; his special
5daughter, Kimberly "Kimski" Hoesel (Brent Bartell); and
6several other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Eugene Albert "Teener" Philipp, and extend our sincere
10condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
11him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Eugene Philipp as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
