2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James H. Sankey Jr.; and
4    WHEREAS, James Sankey was born to Earlene Britton and James
5H. Sankey Sr. on March 21, 1955; he attended Richard T. Crane
6High School and married Juanita on May 26, 1973; and
7    WHEREAS, James Sankey held positions with the United States
8Postal Service and the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook
9County; and
10    WHEREAS, James Sankey was a dedicated and compassionate
11caregiver to his mother; he was chivalrous and charismatic,
12which was apparent during his time with Julie and then Sheila;
14    WHEREAS, James Sankey was active in the Jehovah's Witness
15faith; he enjoyed boxing and training with Thomas Hearns,
16martial arts, nutritional wellness, and protecting his family
17and friends; and
18    WHEREAS, James Sankey is survived by his mother, Earlene;
19his father, James Sr. (Desiree); his sisters, La Vese (Glenn)
20and Shirley (Derrick); his stepbrother, Sean; his stepsisters,

1Jacqueline and La Wanda; his daughter, Yolanda (Henry); his
2sons, Antonio, James III, Dion, and Antione (Lauren); his
3special children, De'andre, Dana, and Veida; his
4grandchildren, Marcus, Jeremy, Kayla, Jordan, Joshua, Brandy,
5Javaris, Amani, Kilye, Layla, Justice, and Simone; and four
6great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kaiden, Kinnedi, and Kaileb; and
7a multitude of family and friends; therefore, be it
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10James H. Sankey Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of James Sankey as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
