SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William A. "Bill" Wolf; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was born in Rockford to CJ "Doc" and
5Mabel Frances Wolf on June 14, 1930; he graduated from
6Belvidere High School in 1947, where he was a member of the
7undefeated 1946 football team; he married Sara Tyson on April
826, 1952 and graduated from Lake Forest College shortly
9thereafter; he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at
10Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Wolf returned to Belvidere in 1954 and began
12working in the family automotive business, Wolf Chevrolet Sales
13Inc.; he became the dealer operator in August of 1962; he was
14involved with the Illinois Automobile Dealer Association
15(IADA), serving as board president in 1988, and the National
16Automobile Dealer Association (NADA), serving as the elected
17state of Illinois representative for 19 years; he received the
18Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award in 1993 and served on the
19Chevrolet National Dealer Council; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was a founding member of the Boone
21County Conservation District and the Sister Cities
22Association; he served as Belvidere Chamber of Commerce

1president and received its Doctor of Civic Betterment Award in
22011; he served on the Boone County Board, where he took an
3active role in construction of the Belvidere Public Safety
4Building; he was an active IOU Club member for 64 years and a
5past president; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was a lifelong member of St. James
7Catholic Church in Belvidere; he and Sara were active
8volunteers and enjoyed traveling with friends; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was preceded in death by his wife of
10over 66 years, Sara; his parents; his son, Thomas; his
11grandson, David; and his sister, Susan; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bill Wolf is survived by his children, John
13(Candy) Wolf, Michael (Joyce) Wolf, Callie (Jim) Marrs, and
14Chris (Norman White) Wolf; his grandchildren, Janna (Dan)
15Earley, Scott (Katie) Wolf, Nickolas (Sarah) Wolf, Joseph
16(Char) Wolf, Frank Wolf, Mitch Wolf, Matthew Wolf, Mary Wolf,
17Katie (JC) Fanning, Greg (Katie) Marrs, Lisa (John) Liebgott,
18Jeff (Kelly) Marrs, Stephen Wolf, Aaron Wolf, and Alex Wolf;
19his great-grandchildren, Alice Earley, Maeve Earley, Kendall
20Wolf, Kyle Wolf, Ethan Wolf, Kiley Fanning, Ally Fanning, Henry
21Marrs, Nora Marrs, Amelia Marrs, Evelyn Marrs, Sawyer Marrs,
22and Griffin Marrs; and his brother, Jack (Peggy) Wolf;
23therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3William A. "Bill" Wolf, and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Bill Wolf as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
