SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glen Franklin Fringer, who passed away on
4May 29, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glen Fringer was born in Tower Hill to Lula and
6Charles Fringer on July 20, 1920; he served in the United
7States Army during World War II and was stationed in the
8Philippines; he married Joyce Mason on June 7, 1941; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Glen Fringer worked at Woodstock Die Casting until
10his retirement at the age of 60; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Glen Fringer was a talented carpenter and
12handyman; he built his first two homes and kept busy helping
13many in the Woodstock area; he was a fixture at Uncle Dan's
14restaurant in Woodstock, owned by his daughter, Sandy, and
15son-in-law, Dan Terlikowski; he was a proud member of the
16Woodstock Moose Lodge, which he joined in November of 1946; he
17worked tirelessly supporting the lodge, as a handyman, Bingo
18caller, turkey carver, and doing any other job that needed
19doing; he was a past governor and attained the rank of Pilgrim,
20one of his proudest achievements; he was also the lodge's
21oldest and longest-serving member; and

1    WHEREAS, Glen Fringer participated in an Honor Flight to
2Washington, D.C. in August of 2012 with his grandson,
3Nathaniel; he and Joyce were active members of the Woodstock
4Woodchucks Camping Club for many years; they enjoyed traveling
5in their RV and camping locally, often including their
6grandchildren; Glen enjoyed Cribbage and Pegs and fishing; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Glen Fringer was preceded in death by his wife of
864 years, Joyce; his son, Jerry; his daughter, Sandy; his
9parents; his daughter-in-law, Sandy; his son-in-law, Dan; and
10many siblings; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Glen Fringer is survived by his daughter, Cindy
12(Chris) Burns; his son, Ron; his daughter-in-law, Luanne
13(Fringer); his sibling, Jean (Vanlue); his grandsons, Kevin
14(Justine), Patrick, Nathaniel (Sabrina), and Josh Burns; his
15granddaughters, Megan (Fringer) and Jenelle (Mike) Gilman; and
16his great-grandchildren, Kyle, Sierra, Caleb, Ethan, Zoe,
17Abby, Delaney, Molly, Charlie, and Vivian; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Glen Franklin Fringer, and extend our sincere condolences to
21his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
