SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruthie Dell Fairchild, who passed away on
4May 22, 2018 at the age of 71; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruthie Fairchild was born in Ackerman,
6Mississippi to Joseph and Esther (Brown) Fairchild on August
721, 1946; she graduated from high school as valedictorian at
8the age of 16; she received her associate's degree from Clinton
9Community College and her bachelor's degree from Mount St.
10Clair; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ruthie Fairchild was a community activist; she was
12involved with the Lead Like Jesus Program, a prison and family
13ministry in the jail system, the Buddy House at Blackhawks
14Courts Farm, and the Patriots Gateway Community Center; she was
15the coordinator of the Zion Outreach for over 20 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ruthie Fairchild is survived by her son, Edward
17Jerome Williams; her daughter, Malika (Wilson) Miller; her
18extended children, Cassandra Jackson, LaNette Williams, and
19LaMonte Williams; her brothers, Jerome Fairchild, Willie
20(Julia) Hughes, Malik (Roshelle) Lee, and Joseph (Marclene)
21Robinson; and her sisters, Ernestine Fairchild and Annette
22Jones; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Ruthie Dell Fairchild and extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Ruthie Fairchild as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
