SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Kenneth H. "Ken" Roberts of Moline, who 
4passed away on May 8, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Roberts was born in Springfield to Fredrick 
6and Wilma (Brown) Roberts on November 24, 1938; he was a United 
7States Navy veteran; he married Mary Lee Stumbaugh in Aurora on 
8October 14, 1962; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Ken Roberts retired from Royal Neighbors of 
10America, Rock Island; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Ken Roberts was a talented woodworker and enjoyed 
12model trains and gardening; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Ken Roberts was preceded in death by his grandson, 
14Brandon; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ken Roberts is survived by his wife, Mary; his 
16children, Michael (Laura) Roberts, Michelle (Richard) Carr, 
17Melanie (Stephen) Shaffer, and Jennifer (Michael) Moran; his 12 
18grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Verna 
19(Larry) Clement; and his brothers, Carl (Norma) Roberts and 
20Fred (Mary) Roberts; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Kenneth H. "Ken" Roberts and extend our sincere condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Ken Roberts as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
