SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wallace "Wallie" Erickson of Moline, who
4passed away on April 21, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson was born in Moline to John and
6Olga (Becker) Erickson on March 19, 1920; he served in the
7United States Army from 1942 to 1945 and married Rosaline
8Wexell at Cambridge Lutheran Church on April 28, 1957; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson began his career at First National
10Bank of Moline in December of 1940; he worked there for 45
11years and retired in January of 1986 as a senior vice
12president; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson served as the city treasurer for
14Moline and was a founding member and served on committees for
15the Quad-City Chapter of the American Liver Foundation; he was
16a volunteer at Trinity Hospital in Moline, serving close to
174,500 hours; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson was a member of Thor Lodge 9
19Independent Order of Vikings; he was a member of First Lutheran
20Church of Moline, where he was very active and involved with
21all aspects of the church, including serving as Sunday school

1teacher, Boy Scout leader, council member, choir member, and
2Memorial Fund Treasurer; he was involved with the Eastern
3Chapter Polka Club of Iowa, Junior Achievement, the Moline
4Exchange Club, and the Moline American Legion Post 246; he
5enjoyed fishing, golfing, and trips to Graves Lake in Remer,
6Minnesota for over 70 years; he enjoyed spending time with his
7family and spending time outdoors; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson is survived by his wife, Rosaline;
9his children, Karen (Terry) Thomasson, Joel (Mary) Erickson,
10and Kris (Brian) Keller; eight grandchildren; and two
11great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Wallace "Wallie" Erickson, and extend our sincere condolences
15to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
16it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Wallie Erickson as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
