SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Keith Scott Chalmers; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Scott Chalmers was born in Chicago to Keith and
5Sheila Chalmers on May 19, 1981; he was baptized at New Birth
6of Love Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago; he began reading
7at three years old and was writing his own mini-adventure books
8by the age of five; he attended elementary school in Matteson
9School District 162 and Rich Central High School District 227;
10he attended Moraine Valley and Kishwaukee Community Colleges
11and received numerous accreditations as a computer technician;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Scott Chalmers worked for Fox Valley Internet and
14Edward Don & Company; he then founded NewStar Networks; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Scott Chalmers loved computers, music, Starcraft,
16computer games, model trains, baking his "world famous" monkey
17bread, his parents, his siblings, friends, family, and his
18fur-babies; at a young age, he would dismantle many of his
19sister's electronic devices - some of which would actually work
20when he put them back together; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Scott Chalmers is survived by his wife, Cassandra

1Brooks; his stepsons, E'LonTray and Eric Brooks; his parents,
2Sheila Chalmers-Currin (Jonathan) and Keith Chalmers
3(Patricia); his siblings, Kelika Baker (Kenneth), Jessica
4Underwood, and Caleb Chalmers; his grandmother, Lavonia
5Hamlin; numerous aunts and uncles; his nieces, Breanna Baker,
6Jazmyn Aponte, Jo' Ai Chalmers, and Khai Baker; his nephew,
7Joshua Chalmers; many cousins; his longtime friend, Carmen
8Anderson; his neighbor and good friend, Sandy Langan; and
9countless other beloved friends, wonderful neighbors,
10co-workers, and acquaintances; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Keith Scott Chalmers, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Scott Chalmers as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
