SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Easton Jr. M.D., who passed away
4on August 8, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Easton was born in Peoria to Ruth Short and
6Robert Easton M.D. on November 28, 1946; he graduated from
7Richwoods High School in Peoria in 1964, cum laude from Harvard
8University in 1968, and Tulane Medical School in 1975; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dr. Easton practiced medicine in Eureka and later
10in Peoria; he then worked private duty for his last several
11years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Easton volunteered weekly feeding the
13homeless in Peoria; he also was involved in Peoria Area Voices
14for Animals and a local vegetarian group; he had a heart of
15gold and would help anyone he could; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. Easton was preceded in death by his parents;
17his sister, Nancy Easton Blume; his foster sister, Joanie
18Mason; and his brother, Steven Easton; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dr. Easton is survived by his wife, Nancy Long;
20his children, Sophie Fowler (John Fowler), Mary Easton, Robert

1Easton III (Kim Colbeck), and Jonathan Easton; his
2grandchildren, Christopher and Kaitlyn Fowler and James
3Easton; and his stepchildren, Christa Graeve, Kim Hartzler, and
4Amos Long; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Robert Easton Jr. M.D., and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Dr. Easton as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
