SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold R. Myers of Alden, who passed away
4on September 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Myers was born in Fair Oaks, Indiana to
6Cecil Jesse and Myrtle (Sullivan) Myers on July 16, 1919; he
7served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division from
81942 to 1945 and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart; he
9married Violet June Waling in Mt. Ayer, Indiana on April 8,
101945; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harold Myers served with the Alden Volunteer Fire
12Department for 37 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Harold Myers was a member of the American Legion,
14the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans
15Association, and the Alden Fox Hunters; he was an officer for
16the Alden Community Club and enjoyed fishing, fox hunting, and
17painting; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Harold Myers was preceded in death by his wife,
19Violet; his parents; his brothers, Cecil and Kenneth; and his
20sister, Catherine; and

1    WHEREAS, Harold Myers is survived by his children, Larry
2(Dorothy) Myers and Karen (Richard) Wallace; his foster
3daughter, Diana (John) Bottlemy; his grandchildren, Jennifer
4(Scott) Hommema, Kim (Chris) Ballew, Christopher Wallace,
5Melisa Wilk, Matthew (Karen) Wallace, and Angela (Troy)
6Davidson; and his great-grandchildren, Alexia, Ethan, Kyle,
7Dylan, Sierra, Chloe, Caleb, Olivia, and Brynlee; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Harold R. Myers, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Harold Myers as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
