SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harley D. Rutledge of Tolono, who passed
4away on July 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harley Rutledge was born in Louisville, Kentucky
6to Carolyn and Daniel DePalma on November 24, 1971; he
7graduated from Western Illinois University and married Amanda
8Hiller in Champaign in 1998; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Harley Rutledge was a lieutenant for the Urbana
10Police Department, where he worked for over 19 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harley Rutledge was a devoted father and enjoyed
12attending his children's baseball, basketball, and softball
13games; he was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and
14Penguins; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Harley Rutledge is survived by his wife, Amanda;
16his daughter, Hannah, and her son, Dillon; his parents; his
17sisters, Candace Kelly, Katy DePalma, Elizabeth Spires, and
18Angel Edwards; his brother, Jay Gordy; his brothers-in-law and
19sisters-in-law, Kevin Hiller, Laura Hiller, Tim Kelly, Diana
20Gordy, Kevin Spires, and Chris Edwards; and many nieces and
21nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Harley D. Rutledge, and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Harley Rutledge as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
