SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Elizabeth Briskovich of Bunker Hill, who
4passed away on July 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Briskovich was born in Granite City to
6Charles Dana and Gertrude (Bequette) Dana on March 22, 1925;
7she married George E. Briskovich in Wilsonville on June 12,
81948; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Briskovich was a homemaker in the early
10years of her marriage before working for the Olin Winchester
11Division; she retired at the age of 62, after 24 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Briskovich was a member of the
13machinists union and the American Legion Auxiliary for many
14years; she was also a member of St. Mary Church in Bunker Hill,
15where she served on the Altar Society; she enjoyed many hobbies
16during her life including cooking, gardening, sewing,
17crocheting, quilting, and crafts; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Briskovich was preceded in death by her
19parents; her husband, George; her brothers, Charles Dana, Allie
20Dana, and Joe Dana; and her sisters, Bernice Dana, Trudy King,
21Margaret Oldenettel, and Bobbie Katich; and

1    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Briskovich is survived by her sons,
2Michael (Cathi) Briskovich and Randall C. (Gina) Briskovich;
3her daughters, Joanne (Rory) Kahl and Dana (Tom) Benbenek; her
4grandchildren, Greg (Joni) Briskovich, Chad (Keri) Briskovich,
5Kimberly Briskovich, Zebadiah Briskovich, Shawn Garrett,
6Bobbie Jo (Terry) Blevins, Staci (Greg) Blevins, Robbie (Tracy)
7Kahl, Samantha Watson, and Alexander Watson; her
8step-grandchildren, Steffanne (Josh) Adkins, Tommy Benbenek,
9Hayden Benbenek, and Quin Benbenek; 15 great-grandchildren;
10three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rita Smith and
11Helen (Steve) Zink; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
12it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Elizabeth Briskovich, and extend our sincere condolences to her
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Elizabeth Briskovich as an
20expression of our deepest sympathy.
