SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election
3Integrity was purportedly established by executive order to
4investigate vulnerabilities in voting systems and practices
5used for federal elections that could lead to improper voter
6registrations and improper voting, including fraudulent voter
7registrations and fraudulent voting; and
 
8    WHEREAS, President Donald Trump has consistently
9maintained, without evidence, that three to five million
10illegal votes were cast in the 2016 presidential election for
11the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton; and
 
12    WHEREAS, President Trump's Advisory Commission on Election
13Integrity has requested the personal data and voting history of
14every American voter; and
 
15    WHEREAS, It is the duty of the State Board of Elections to
16ensure the integrity of our elections and to protect voting
17rights and the privacy of Illinois voters; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Illinois law allows voter data to be obtained by
19political committees, which use it to develop their voter
20databases, and by governmental agencies for governmental
21purposes; however, Illinois law prohibits release of the more

1personal information associated with voters, such as Social
2Security numbers, driver's license numbers, and digital copies
3of voter signatures; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the State Board of
6Elections is urged to decline any request to turn over or share
7personal data or confidential voter registration data to the
8Advisory Commission on Election Integrity; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
10delivered to the President and Vice President of the United
11States, United States Senator Richard Durbin, United States
12Senator Tammy Duckworth, the entire Illinois Congressional
13Delegation, Governor Rauner, and the Illinois State Board of
14Elections.
