SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence J. Coussens of Moline, who
4passed away on May 6, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was born in Rock Island to
6Albert D. and Elizabeth (Muylle) Coussens on September 25,
71926; he served in the United States Navy and married Norma
8Jean Biscontine at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island
9on October 10, 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was employed as a machinist at
11the Rock Island Arsenal for 35 years, retiring in 1984; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was a member of St. Mary
13Catholic Church in Moline; he enjoyed boxing movies, collecting
14miniature vintage cars, and gardening; he loved family
15gatherings and was a member of American Legion Post 246 in
16Moline; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was preceded in death by his
18parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens is survived by his wife, Norma;
20his children, Denise (Dale) Standard, Jeff (Heather) Coussens,

1and Annette (Mark) Drobushevich; his grandchildren, Emily
2(Chad) Brownfield, Adam (Saki) Stone, Jessy Bartz, Ben Bartz,
3Ava Coussens, and Chase Coussens; and his first
4great-grandchild, Stone, expected in the fall; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Lawrence J. Coussens, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Lawrence Coussens as an expression
12of our deepest sympathy.
