SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sharon Robbins, who passed away on April
44, 2017 at the age of 93; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins served as co-chair of the
6Northshore Panel of American Women from 1967 to 1970 which was
7designed to confront historically difficult issues on race,
8religion, and gender, and to open a positive dialogue amongst
9all people; she maintained her friendship and devotion to her
10fellow panelists and the fight for civil rights for over 50
11years; she was named the 2012 Volunteer of the Year by Glenkirk
12for her work with the developmentally disabled; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins took up painting in the last five
14years of her life; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins was preceded in death by her
16husband of 50 years, Dr. Fred Robbins; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins is survived by her children, Bruce
18(Shelley), Mark (Chris), and Joni (Marc) Mirsky; her
19grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Hitchell, Mathew Robbins, Erin
20(Jeffrey) Robbins, Jeffrey, Zachary, and Alexandra Mirsky, and
21Brian Lueders; her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Lucas, Emmett,

1Reed, and Ryder; and her brother, Arthur (Dottie) Apple;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Sharon Robbins, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Sharon Robbins as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
