SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Lesnak of Waukegan, who
4passed away on March 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was born in North Chicago to John
6and Frances (Cepon) Lesnak on December 23, 1922; he attended
7Mother of God School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak served in the United States Army
9during World War II and served in both the European and Pacific
10Theaters with the 342nd Infantry of the Blackhawks 86th
11Division; he enjoyed attending the reunions to touch base with
12all of his buddies from Company M; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was employed by U.S. Steel and
14retired after over 39 years of service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was a member of St. Joseph's KSJK
16#53, the American Legion, the VFW, and Knights of Columbus
17#731; he was the last man to be a member of the Hobby Lobby
18Social Club and was a charter member of the World War II
19Memorial in Washington, D.C.; he was a previous member of
20Mother of God Church, Immaculate Conception, and of St. Dismas
21Parish in Waukegan, where he was a member of the Men's Club; he

1enjoyed playing softball and golf; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was preceded in death by his wife
3of 65 years, Anne (Jerina) Lesnak; his parents; his siblings,
4John (Helen) Lesnak, Frances (Frank) Drasler, Mary (Thomas)
5Twardy, Rose (Victor) Dietz, and Frank (Theresa) Lesnak; and
6his nephews, William Twardy, and Keith Nurnburg; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak is survived by his sons, Robert
8(Donna) and John (Terri) Lesnak; his grandsons, Brian (Kelli)
9and Kevin Lesnak (Saya Barkdoll); and his great-grandchildren,
10Taylor, Ty, Reese, and Ryan; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Anthony "Tony" Lesnak, and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Anthony Lesnak as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
