SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Timothy J. Murphy of Mount Prospect, who
4passed away on April 4, 2017 at the age of 62; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy was a graduate of DePaul Law School
6and was a dedicated and dogged attorney who practiced his
7talents for over 37 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy was born and raised on the South
9Side of Chicago; he was proud of his Chicago roots and
10enthusiastically cheered on the Chicago White Sox, the
11Blackhawks, and the Northwestern Wildcats; he believed
12strongly in helping and serving others in his community and was
13a committed member of the Mt. Prospect Lions Club; he brought
14energy and zest to every occasion and enjoyed life to the
15absolute fullest; he loved getting together with friends, going
16to countless rock concerts, and making others laugh with his
17wit and humor; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
18son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, and loyal friend; he was
19a willing confidant, peacemaker, and sage counselor and will be
20missed by all; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy is survived by his parents Robert
22and Dolores Murphy; his wife of 37 years Kathleen (Meersman);

1his children, Sarah (Joe) Reth, Patrick (Ryan) Murphy, Claire
2(John) Hollyoak, and Jack Murphy; his grandson, Owen Reth; and
3many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and his large
4extended family; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Timothy J. Murphy, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Timothy Murphy as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
