SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gary R. Paris of Maple Park, who passed
4away on April 4, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Paris was born in Aurora to Robert Sr. and
6Merna (Johnson) Paris on March 14, 1957; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gary Paris began his employment with the city of
8Geneva as a maintenance department mechanic; he was promoted
9twice, first to chief mechanic in 1994 and later to fleet
10maintenance supervisor in 2006; he was also ASE-certified as a
11Master Automobile Technician by the National Institute for
12Automotive Service Excellence; he serviced the backup power
13generators at City Hall, the Police Department, Public Works
14and the city's water utility; he also worked as an auto
15mechanic at the Batavia Citgo and Batavia Standard stations;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gary Paris was preceded in death by his mother,
18Merna Paris, and his maternal and paternal grandparents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gary Paris is survived by his father, Robert Paris
20Sr.; his children, Jennifer Paris and Tim (Kristen) Paris; his
21grandchildren, Courtney and Caitlin; his siblings, Patricia

2Paris; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Gary R. Paris, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Gary Paris as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
