SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Germaine C. "Gerry" Henningfield of Volo,
4who passed away on February 4, 2017, at the age of 83; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Germaine Henningfield was born in Burlington,
6Wisconsin to Frank and Anna (Spieker) May on September 21,
71933; she was raised in Burlington, and had been a resident of
8Volo since 1966; she also lived in Denver for two years and
9Mundelein for nearly 10 years; she married Leo Henningfield in
10Burlington on November 28, 1953; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Germaine Henningfield was a homemaker for the
12majority of her life; she was an avid seamstress, she liked to
13knit, and she enjoyed a love of reading; she was very active
14throughout her lifetime in several organizations including the
15Lake County Association for Home and Community Education, the
16former Centegra-Northern Illinois Medical Center, the
17Centegra-NIMC Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit
18491, Women of the Moose Unit #1328, Senior Citizens of
19Wauconda, and was a member of The Church of Holy Apostles in
20McHenry; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Germaine Henningfield was preceded in death by her
22parents; her husband, Leo; a brother, Adrian May; and a sister,

2    WHEREAS, Germaine Henningfield is survived by seven
3children, Gerald (Joy) Henningfield, Deborah (Dick) Quagliano,
4Elaine (Robert) Witte, Barb (Rich) Sheldon, JoAnne (Dan)
5Coughlin, Michael (Nancy) Henningfield, and Patrick (Sharon)
6Henningfield; 16 grandchildren, Corey, Bryant, B.J., Michael,
7Anthony, Colleen, Ben, Stephanie, Steven, Greg, Brian, Sarah,
8Sean, Marcus, Jack, and Alex; eight great-grandchildren; and
9two sisters, Bernice Mitchell and Genevieve (John) Jensen;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Germaine C. "Gerry" Henningfield, and extend our sincere
14condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Germaine Henningfield as an
18expression of our deepest sympathy.
