SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Steven M. Rick of Woodstock, who passed
4away on February 4, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Steven Rick was born in Palatine to Robert and
6Marilyn (Rojicek) Rick on February 19, 1977; he graduated from
7Palatine High School in 1995, where he was active in football,
8baseball, and basketball, and was named PHS Athlete of the
9Year; he attended the University of Iowa for two years and
10transferred to the University of Illinois, where he received a
11Bachelor of Science in Education; he married Cynthia M.
12Traskaski at The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry on July 15,
132006; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Steven Rick taught science for over 10 years at
15Prairie Ridge High School, where he also coached girls and boys
16soccer and basketball; he then worked as coordinator in the
17Administration Office for District 155; during his time with
18District 155, he earned his master's degree and Type 75
19Illinois Administrative Certificate; in 2014, he became
20Assistant Principal at Woodstock North High School in Community
21Unit School District 200; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Steven Rick enjoyed nature, hiking, family trips,

1playing cards, fantasy football, dinosaurs, and cheering on the
2Chicago White Sox and the Seattle Seahawks; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Steven Rick is survived by his wife of 10 years,
4Cindy; his daughters, Evie and Harper; his father, Robert Rick;
5his mother, Marilyn Rick; his sister, Suzanne Warren; his
6father-in-law and mother-in-law, Phil and Evelyn Traskaski;
7his brother-in-law, Phil Jr. (Nicole) Traskaski; his
8sister-in-law, Julie Traskaski; six nieces; and one nephew;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Steven M. Rick, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Steven Rick as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
