AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1467

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1467 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing
5Section 2.5 as follows:
 
6    (520 ILCS 5/2.5)
7    Sec. 2.5. Crossbow use conditions.
8    Any person may use a crossbow to take any animal during the
9appropriate archery season.
10    A person may use a crossbow if one or more of the following
11conditions are met:
12        (1) the user is a person age 62 and older;
13        (2) the user is a person with a disability to whom the
14    Director has issued a permit to use a crossbow, as provided
15    by administrative rule; or
16        (3) the date of using the crossbow is during the period

1    of the second Monday following the Thanksgiving holiday
2    through the last day of the archery deer hunting season
3    (both inclusive) set annually by the Director.
4    As used in this Section, "person with a disability" means a
5person who has a physical impairment due to injury or disease,
6congenital or acquired, which renders the person so severely
7disabled as to be unable to use a longbow, recurve bow, or
8compound bow. Permits must be issued only after the receipt of
9a physician's statement confirming the applicant is a person
10with a disability as defined above.

12    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13becoming law.".
