AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 771

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 771 on page 4, by
3deleting lines 16 through 20; and
 
4on page 6, line 15, after "procedure.", by inserting
5"Neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring does not include
6testing and interpretation of test results using
7electrodiagnostic modalities to monitor the spinal cord,
8peripheral nerves (other than the seventh and eighth cranial
9nerve), cerebral hemispheres, or brainstem."; and
 
10on page 8, immediately below line 7, by inserting the
11following:
12    "(h) The performance of neurophysiologic intraoperative
13monitoring of the seventh and eighth cranial nerve by an
14individual certified by the American Board of Registration of
15Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists as
16Certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring only

1if authorized and supervised by the physician performing the
2surgical procedure."; and
 
3on page 31, line 6, by replacing "Willfully violating" with
4"Violating"; and
 
5on page 31, immediately below line 6, by inserting the
6following:
7        "(cc) Violating Section 8.3 of this Act."; and
 
8by replacing line 14 on page 38 through line 1 on page 39 with
9the following:
10    "(b) The terms "audiology", "audiologist", "clinical
11audiologist", "licensed audiologist", "speech-language
12pathology", "speech-language pathologist", "clinical
13speech-language pathologist", "licensed speech-language
14pathologist", or any other similar term, title, abbreviation,
15or symbol that may indicate that the person is licensed under
16this Act shall not be used by any person in any communication
17that advertises services regulated under this Act unless he or
18she is licensed under this Act as a speech-language pathologist
19or an audiologist. An audiologist may".
