AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 558

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 558 on page 10,
3line 22, by replacing "or" with "or"; and
 
4on page 10, line 23, after "person", by inserting "or by the
5State's Attorney"; and
 
6on page 11, line 1, by replacing "petition" with "petition; or
7."; and
 
8on page 11, immediately below line 1, by inserting the
9following:
10        "(3) by a State's Attorney on behalf of any minor child
11    or dependent adult in the care of the named victim, if the
12    named victim does not file a petition or request the
13    State's Attorney file the petition."; and
 
14on page 11, line 6, by replacing "or" with "or"; and

4"State's Attorney has a good faith basis to delay filing the
5petition. The State's Attorney shall inform the person that the
6State's Attorney will not be filing the petition at that time
7and that the person may file a petition or may retain an
8attorney to file the petition. The State's Attorney may file
9the petition at a later date.".
