| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Construction Law is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 5-50 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 5-50. Referendum requirements. After the

has approved all or part of a district's |
| 9 | | application and issued a grant
entitlement for a school |
| 10 | | construction project grant, the district shall submit
the |
| 11 | | project or the financing of the project to a referendum when |
| 12 | | such
referendum is required by law, except for a project |
| 13 | | financed by bonds issued pursuant to subsection (p-70) of |
| 14 | | Section 19-1 of the School Code. |
