| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to honor the leadership
and service of our | ||||||
| 4 | esteemed colleague, State Representative Silvana Tabares, as | ||||||
| 5 | she leaves the
General Assembly to continue serving her | ||||||
| 6 | community on the Chicago City Council; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares is a native of Chicago; she earned an | ||||||
| 8 | Associates of
Arts from Richard J. Daley College and a Bachelor | ||||||
| 9 | of Arts from Columbia College Chicago; she went on to become a | ||||||
| 10 | distinguished fellow through the Edgar Fellows Program; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares continues to reside in the City of | ||||||
| 12 | Chicago's Garfield Ridge
neighborhood, where she and her | ||||||
| 13 | husband are raising their child; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares has risen to the occasion in | ||||||
| 15 | honorably serving the people of
the 21st District in a manner | ||||||
| 16 | informed by her experience, crafting unique leadership
| ||||||
| 17 | qualities as a civically engaged member of her community; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares' style of governance has offered a | ||||||
| 19 | strong yet measured
approach to those whom she served; her | ||||||
| 20 | temperament has been illustrative of a steadfast
willingness | ||||||
| 21 | and desire to represent the best interests of residents | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | throughout her community
during her tenure in the General | ||||||
| 2 | Assembly; and | ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares has served her community with | ||||||
| 4 | distinction in pursuit of its
core values, protecting and | ||||||
| 5 | faithfully defending public safety, upholding the common good,
| ||||||
| 6 | fighting for tax relief, and standing strong for those whose | ||||||
| 7 | voices are not heard; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares' past experiences serving the public | ||||||
| 9 | shall act as a guide
post to equip her with the tools, | ||||||
| 10 | knowledge, and expertise necessary to advance and defend the
| ||||||
| 11 | public interest; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Rep. Tabares now serves as a member of the Chicago | ||||||
| 13 | City Council,
representing the 23rd Ward; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 16 | hereby offer our
congratulations and sincerest regards to State | ||||||
| 17 | Representative Silvana Tabares as she continues along the path | ||||||
| 18 | to humbly serve the public; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Rep. Tabares as an
expression of our highest | ||||||
| 21 | admiration, gratitude, and respect, joined with well-wishes | ||||||
