HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dennis H.
4Hewitt, who passed away on November 12, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was born in Elgin to Gerald and Lola
6(Prowse) Hewitt on May 14, 1949; he married Mary Watermann on
7January 22, 1970; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was the Executive Director of PADS
9of Elgin for 13 years; his commitment to service transformed
10PADS of Elgin from a seasonal program to a permanent shelter;
11he retired in 2016; previously, he worked at Biggers Chevrolet
12for 27 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was a 25-year volunteer leader with
14Little League Baseball; his dedication to Little League ensured
15every child got to play; he was an active church member and
16leader, a Food Pantry volunteer, and a Gold Wing rider; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was preceded in death by his father,
18Gerald Hewitt, and his grandson, Wyatt Hewitt; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt is survived by his wife, Mary
20Hewitt; his son, Rev. Dr. Kristopher (Carrie) Hewitt; his

1grandson, Aidan Hewitt; his mother, Lola Hewitt; his sisters,
2Kathy Oswalt, Candy (Gil) Doty, and Heather (Ted) Weaver; his
3brothers, Dean (Co), Gary (Pat), Michael (Cathy), and Kevin
4(Sue) Hewitt; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8mourn the passing of Dennis H. Hewitt and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dennis Hewitt as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
