HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ella Mae
4Love of Chicago, who passed away on September 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ella Love was born in Nashville, Tennessee to
6Richard and Beulah Love on February 18, 1923; she attended
7elementary school and graduated from high school in Nashville,
8Tennessee; she married Curtis Ward in 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Mama Ward," Ella Love
10committed to her faith at an early age at the Greater
11Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, where she
12served with the Willing Workers Club and sang in the choir; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ella Love was a devoted and loving wife, mother,
14aunt, grandmother, and loyal friend; she loved her family and
15her church family; she enjoyed entertaining, shopping, dining,
16and traveling and looked forward to serving and singing at her
17church; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ella Love was preceded in death by her parents;
19her husband, Curtis; her son, Dwayne; her stepsons, Curtis Jr.
20and John Henry; and her grandson, Jewel Oliver; and

1    WHEREAS, Ella Love is survived by her daughters, Cassandra
2Ward (Jess I. Jr.) Elston and Yolanda Charis (Marshaund) Moore;
3her granddaughters, Yolanda Charis, Natasha, Lenora, Tajuanna,
4Jasmine, Marquita, and Chiniqua "Niki"; her grandsons,
5Kurtease, Jonathon, Keaton, and Curtis III "Tank"; and her many
6great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended
7family and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10mourn the passing of Ella Mae Love and extend our sincere
11condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Ella Love as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
