HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Terry F.
4Peshia of Oswego, who passed away on August 9, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Peshia was born in Aurora to Harlan and Vera
6(Ohlgren) Peshia on February 3, 1938; he graduated from the
7Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1961; he proudly served
8in the United States Army; he married Connie Dailey on June 28,
91964; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Terry Peshia was a proud ironworker and began his
11career as an ironworker at Garbe Iron Works in Aurora in 1964;
12at the time of his passing, he was the Chief Executive Officer
13of Garbe Iron Works; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Terry Peshia was a past chairman of the American
15Institute of Steel Construction and the Central Fabricators
16Association and a member of Associated Steel Erectors; he was
17involved in many county and community organizations, including
18the Kendall County Board, the Oswego Village Board, and the
19Kendall County Historical Society, where he served as a past
20president; he was a former Oswego Police Commissioner; he was a
21devoted attendee of the Church of the Good Shepherd, United
22Methodist in Oswego; he was a Freemason and a member of the

1Jerusalem Temple Lodge in Aurora; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Terry Peshia was an avid car collector, a member
3of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club, and a lifetime member of
4the ACD Museum in Auburn, Indiana; he was a loving husband,
5father, grandfather, brother, and uncle; he was a valued member
6of his community who tried each day to create a better world
7for those around him; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Terry Peshia was preceded in death by his parents;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Terry Peshia is survived by his wife, Connie; his
11sons, Theodore (Laura) Peshia and John (Elizabeth) Peshia; his
12granddaughters, Jocelyn and Danica Peshia; his sister, Jan
13Anderson-Gleason; and several nieces and nephews; therefore,
14be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17mourn the passing of Terry F. Peshia and extend our sincere
18condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
19him; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Terry Peshia as an expression of our
