HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Frank E. Lenti on his
4accomplishments; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Lenti graduated from St. Ailbe's in 1965 and
6from Mt. Carmel High School in 1969; he graduated from Loyola
7University in 1974; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Frank Lenti served as a graduate assistant under
9legendary Coach Lou Holtz at the University of Arkansas; he
10began his Chicago-area coaching career at St. Barnabas Grammar
11School, St. Francis De Sales High School, and Thornton High
12School; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Frank Lenti was named Mount Carmel's 18th head
14football coach in April of 1984, and has compiled a record of
15374 wins and 77 losses; he currently holds the Illinois state
16record for the number of wins by a head coach at one school;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Under Frank Lenti, Mount Carmel has qualified for
19the state playoffs 33 times in his 34 seasons as head coach; he
20led the school to eleven state championships in 16 state title
21game appearances; in addition, he led the team to six Prep Bowl

1Championships and 17 Catholic League titles; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Frank Lenti was inducted into the Chicago Catholic
3League Hall of Fame in 1994; in 2011, he was nominated by the
4Chicago Bears for the national Don Shula High School Coach of
5the Year Award; in 2011 and 2013, he received the Tony Lawless
6Coach of the Year Award for the Chicago Catholic League; in
72016, he was honored by the Dick Butkus Foundation with its
8annual Youth Coaching Award; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11congratulate Frank E. Lenti on his accomplishments, and we wish
12him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Frank Lenti as an expression respect and esteem.
