HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark W.
4Harlow of Kinsman, who passed away on April 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Harlow was born in Streator on July 30, 1954;
6he grew up on his family's farm, where he grew corn and raised
7sheep as part of his 4-H and FFA projects; he continued to help
8on the family farm before retiring from farming in 2017; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mark Harlow attended Kinsman Grade School and
10Mazon High School; he later married Doreen Mills in Dwight on
11August 19, 1989; together, the couple had two children, Kaitlyn
12and Perry; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Harlow was a longtime public official in
14Grundy County; he served as Mayor of Kinsman for 30 years; he
15also served as the Highland Township Road Commissioner; in
16addition, he was a member of the Grundy County Farm Bureau and
17was a volunteer firefighter with the Verona-Kinsman Fire
18Department; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mark Harlow will be remembered as someone who
20would answer the phone at any time of night to help clear a
21flooded road or a neighbor's driveway after a big snow; he

1loved his International Harvester and Farmall H tractors, as
2well as snowmobiling with family and friends; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mark Harlow was preceded in death by his father,
4Elmer; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Harlow is survived by his wife, Doreen; his
6children, Kaitlyn and Perry; his mother, Ruth; and his sisters,
7Sandy and Sharon; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10mourn the passing of Mark W. Harlow and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Mark Harlow as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
