HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Scott A. Reimers on 
4receiving the 2018 Rail Splitter Award; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Central Illinois Chapter of the American 
6Society for Public Administration established the Rail 
7Splitter
Public Service Award to pay tribute to public servants 
8(government and nonprofit) whose careers exhibit the
highest 
9standard of excellence, dedication, and accomplishment; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Scott Reimers is Assistant Vice President of State 
11Legislative Affairs for the Illinois Medical Society; he served 
12with the Illinois General Assembly for over 20
years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Scott Reimers began his career in state government 
14as a committee and budget staff member for the Illinois House 
15of
Representatives Republican Caucus; he coordinated several 
16political campaigns for Illinois House seats and in 1999 was  
17appointed
Director of Research Staff; later, he served as 
18Deputy Chief of Staff for
Public Policy and then Chief of Staff 
19for the House
Republican Leader from  2011 to 2015; and
  
 
  
20    WHEREAS, Scott Reimers was inducted into the Samuel E. Gove 
21Legislative Staff Intern Hall of Fame in 2012; and

1    WHEREAS, Scott Reimers is an active member of Blessed 
2Sacrament Parish in
Springfield; he is committed to his 
3community, chairing a capital campaign and successfully 
4raising $5.4
million to expand the church and school campus; he 
5is an active board member of the Northern Illinois
University 
6Alumni Association, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 
71993; he earned a
Master in Public Administration from the 
8University of Illinois at Springfield in 1994; he and his wife, 
9Lori, live in Springfield with their children, Sophie and

10Andrew; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13congratulate Scott A. Reimers on receiving the 2018 Rail 
14Splitter Award; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Scott Reimers as a symbol of our respect and 
17esteem.
