HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Dean Apple on receiving 
4the John D. Dingell Award for his leadership during the passage 
5of the Future Energy Jobs Act in Illinois; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The John D. Dingell Award is presented to leaders 
7whose efforts have helped to advance the common objectives of 
8the electric power industry and International Brotherhood of 
9Electrical Workers (IBEW) members; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dean Apple is the president, business manager, and 
11financial secretary of IBEW Local 15; he has been an IBEW 
12member for over 36 years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Dean Apple started his career in 1981 at the Byron 
14Nuclear Generating Station; he became a mechanic and certified 
15welder; in 1995, he stepped into the position of  IBEW Local 15 
16business representative; for the past 11 years,  he has been the 
17President and Business Manager for Local 15 which represents 
186,000 members; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Dean Apple serves as Vice President of the AFL-CIO 
20Executive Board (representing the IBEW), Chairman of the IBEW 
21State Conference, and is a member of the Midwest LAMPAC

works with the Diversity and Full 
2Inclusion Committee and the Amalgamated Bank Labor Council; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
  
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate Dean Apple on receiving the John D. Dingell Award 
7for his leadership during the passage of the Future Energy Jobs 
8Act in Illinois; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Dean Apple as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
