HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives would like to recognize John LaRoy for his dedicated service to the Homer Glen Jewel store and its customers; and

WHEREAS, John LaRoy understands customer service, and he makes each shopper feel like the most important customer inside the store; he greets everyone with a smile and a "hello"; he disinfects the shopping carts and has them waiting at the store entrance; he likes to offer carry out service and to load customers' groceries into their cars; he chats with shoppers about his love for the White Sox and the Blackhawks and how he will never become a Cubs fan, despite all of the team's fame; and

WHEREAS, John LaRoy began his career at an Omni store and within one year, he was named employee of the year for all of the Dominick's and Omni stores; while he received an award, the highlight was sitting next to the founder of the company during the awards ceremony; and

WHEREAS, John LaRoy graduated from Shepard High School in 1982; after graduation, he attended Sertoma Job Training Center in Blue Island, until his family moved to Skokie; he then attended Shore Training Center until 1990; in addition to taking care of the customers at the Homer Glen Jewel, he also serves as the full-time caregiver for his father; and

WHEREAS, Just as John LaRoy has remained a loyal White Sox fan, he is loyal to Jewel; he is a great asset to the store and helps out in any way he is asked; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize John LaRoy for his dedication to the Homer Glen Jewel store and its customers, and we wish him the best as he continues to provide excellent customer service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to John LaRoy as an expression of our esteem and respect.
