HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia
4A. "Pat" Schultz of Carpentersville, who passed away on October
516, 2017; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was born in Chicago to Walter S. and
7Carol J. (Cavinder) Claxton on January 31, 1956; she graduated
8from Barrington High School in 1973 and married Paul A. Schultz
9on April 20, 1974; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was motivated to serve the
11Carpentersville community and became a trustee in 2009; she was
12recently elected to her third term; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was instrumental in bringing
14Stanford's Battery, a nonprofit organization dedicated to
15preserving the country's Civil War-era history, to the village
16two years in a row for reenactment events; she also partnered
17with the Faithwalk Harvest Center to relaunch the clergy
18commission after a several-year hiatus; she served on the
19village's Audit and Finance Commission and as chairman of the
20Carpentersville Improvement Committee; she always challenged
21proposals that would have raised fees or taxes; and

1    WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was incredibly passionate about
2Carpentersville; her constant focus was on what the residents
3needed; she was a dedicated public servant with a good heart;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was preceded in death by her parents
6and her husband of 19 years, Paul; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Pat Schultz is survived by her children, Sarah
8(Jesse DeVries) Schultz and Michael (Michelle) Schultz; her
9grandson, Kadin; her sister, Tracey Fukala; her brothers, Randy
10and Jerry Claxton; her sister-in-law, Susan Batterham; and her
11nieces, nephews, many friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14mourn the passing of Patricia A. "Pat" Schultz, and extend our
15sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved her; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Pat Schultz as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
