HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Louise
4Pendleton, who passed away on May 4, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louise Pendleton was born in Hernado, Mississippi
6to Jim and Mary (Wooten) Newson on July 14, 1935; she grew up
7in Coldwater, Mississippi, where she received her formal
8education and was a member of the Church of Christ; she moved
9to Memphis, Tennessee, where she married Gaston Wilson Sr.; she
10later moved to Chicago, where she married Sidney Pendleton; in
111971, she moved to Pembroke Township to raise her children; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Louise Pendleton was employed at various
13companies; her most recent job was with Catholic Charities,
14where she enjoyed serving others; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Louise Pendleton enjoyed spending time with her
16family, working outside in her garden and yard, playing board
17and card games, and traveling to visit relatives; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Louise Pendleton was preceded in death by her
19parents; four siblings; and her first husband, Gaston Wilson
20Sr.; and

1    WHEREAS, Louise Pendleton is survived by her children,
2Gaston (Angela) Wilson Jr., Melvin (Dorothy) Wilson, Diane
3Wilson, Denise (Anthony) Stanley, Jacqueline (Eric) Springer,
4Deshune (Marsolene) Pendleton, Darrell (Kimberly) Cross
5Pendleton, and Ardis D. Cross; 22 grandchildren; 20
6great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her brothers,
7Edward (Glenda) Newson, Joseph Newson, and Willie (Shirley)
8Newson; her sisters, Velma Bennett and Mae Alexander; many
9nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, dear friends, and loving
10church members; her close friends, Elve Lumpkin and Mary
11Johnson; and one goddaughter, Patricia Nevills; therefore, be
12it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
14HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15mourn the passing of Louise Pendleton, and extend our sincere
16condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17her; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Louise Pendleton as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
