HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of William
4"Bill" James Carothers; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Carothers was born in Chicago to Walter
6and Albenda Carothers; he attended Grant Elementary School,
7McKinley High School, and Herzel Junior College; he married
8Roberta Sims in 1952; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Carothers was employed by International
10Harvester & Company, I. C. Supermarket, and the City of
11Chicago; he was finally employed by Habilitation Systems, Inc.
12for over 20 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, William Carothers served as ward committeeman and
14alderman for the 28th ward of the City of Chicago; and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Carothers was a member of Original
16Providence Baptist Church for over 60 years, where he served as
17a trustee for over 30 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, William Carothers was preceded in death by his
19parents; all his siblings; his son, Gregory; and his daughters,
20Pamela and Colette; and

1    WHEREAS, William Carothers is survived by his wife,
2Roberta; his sons, Isaac (Sharron), William Jr., and Anthony
3(Kathie); three grandsons; five granddaughters; many
4great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
5his sisters-in-law, Anita, Cora, and Yvonne; his son-in-law,
6Louis; and his entire Original Providence Baptist Church
7family; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10mourn the passing of William "Bill" James Carothers, and extend
11our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
12knew and loved him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of William Carothers as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
