SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
105 ILCS 5/10-20.68 new
105 ILCS 5/34-18.61 new

    Amends the School Code. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a school board may immediately suspend or terminate the employment of any person employed by a school district or contracted to work for a school district who has been convicted of a sex offense; defines "sex offense". Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
510-20.68 and 34-18.61 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/10-20.68 new)
7    Sec. 10-20.68. Employee suspension or termination; sex
8offense. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the
9contrary, a school board may immediately suspend or terminate
10the employment of any person employed by a school district or
11contracted to work for a school district who has been convicted
12of a sex offense, as defined under Section 2 of the Sex
13Offender Registration Act.

15    Sec. 34-18.61. Employee suspension or termination; sex
16offense. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the
17contrary, the board may immediately suspend or terminate the
18employment of any person employed by the school district or
19contracted to work for the school district who has been
20convicted of a sex offense, as defined under Section 2 of the
21Sex Offender Registration Act.

2becoming law.
